Camping
Believe it or not we took our toddler and newborn camping recently. Our friends Adam and Kindi were going and she was 38 weeks pregnant at the time. We figured if they could handle it why couldn't we? We had a great time. Colby loved playing in the dirt. Surprisingly both boys slept very well. The weather was beautiful and a much needed change from the phoenix heat.
Growing up so fast!
Here are a few updated pictures of the boys. They are both getting so big. I can't believe that Cameron is almost three months old. Time has gone by so fast. Colby loves his brother so much and somehow finds a way to have full conversations with him. He gives him plenty of hugs and kisses and especially loves copying him.
For some reason we have a hard time catching Cameron smiling on camera. I promise he is a happy child! This is our favorite grumpy face picture.

Visitors
Over the fourth of July weekend, Kurt's parents and brother were able to come visit. Sadly the weather was pretty hot. I think it reached 116 one of the days they were here. Colby had so much fun. He got some much needed attention he has been missing out on since Cameron joined the family. We went swimming and took Colby bowling for the first time. He loved bowling, but had a bit of a rough time watching others play while he waited for his turn. He wanted to play all of the time. Thanks everyone for making the holiday such a fun one.

Cameron Matthew Peterson
Our Sweet Cameron was born on the morning of May 9th at 9:24. He was 6 lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. He wasn't due for two more weeks but came at the perfect time. His due date was the last day of Kurt's finals and we were worried he would come during an exam. Luckily, Kurt didn't have as much studying to do that weekend so it turned out perfectly. The delivery went very smoothly and recovery hasn't been bad either. We feel extremely lucky to have such a sweet boy join our family. Colby has had some mixed feelings about the whole thing. The first few days he was mostly depressed and clung to my side. Now he is going through a phase of acting out for attention. He will run around the house screaming, singing, crying...you name it. Anything to show he is upset and having a hard time. It will be nice when Kurt is done with finals and can have a little more time to play. For the most part Colby has been growing up very quickly the last few days. He has learned more words since Cameron was born than the entire previous month. He is less clingy to mom and dad and wants to do things himself. We are proud of him and excited for him and his brother to be friends.
Colby's first reaction to the new baby. A little unsure.
Now he loves to pet him on the back.
I guess we already need to strap him in. Who would have thought?

Precious Time With Daddy
With Kurt's busy study schedule, sometimes the only time he has to spend with Colby is while studying. Colby gets pretty into it. He looks a bit more focused than Kurt.
Hiding Places
Colby's new thing lately is finding places to hide. He thinks it is so funny. The other day I was cooking dinner and realized I hadn't heard Colby in a few minutes. I knew he was in the kitchen but didn't discover him until I went to get some spices. Tricky little boy.
Who would have guessed that playing in the bathtub without any water would be so fun. He probably played in the tub for a half hour. I love that Colby thinks I can't find him if he hides his face.

Hot Weather Already?
We have loved the warm Arizona winter and are not quite ready for the summer heat. It is creeping up on us fast. We do however love the excuse to go swimming almost every day. Colby sure loves the water and playing with his friends. Bring on the heat!
