Cameron Matthew Peterson

Our Sweet Cameron was born on the morning of May 9th at 9:24.  He was 6 lbs 6oz and 19 inches long.  He wasn't due for two more weeks but came at the perfect time.  His due date was the last day of Kurt's finals and we were worried he would come during an exam.  Luckily, Kurt didn't have as much studying to do that weekend so it turned out perfectly.  The delivery went very smoothly and recovery hasn't been bad either.  We feel extremely lucky to have such a sweet boy join our family.  Colby has had some mixed feelings about the whole thing.  The first few days he was mostly depressed and clung to my side.  Now he is going through a phase of acting out for attention.  He will run around the house screaming, singing, crying...you name it.  Anything to show he is upset and having a hard time.  It will be nice when Kurt is done with finals and can have a little more time to play.  For the most part Colby has been growing up very quickly the last few days.  He has learned more words since Cameron was born than the entire previous month.  He is less clingy to mom and dad and wants to do things himself.  We are proud of him and excited for him and his brother to be friends.

Colby's first reaction to the new baby.  A little unsure.

Now he loves to pet him on the back.

I guess we already need to strap him in.  Who would have thought?

Precious Time With Daddy

With Kurt's busy study schedule, sometimes the only time he has to spend with Colby is while studying.  Colby gets pretty into it.  He looks a bit more focused than Kurt.

Hiding Places

Colby's new thing lately is finding places to hide.  He thinks it is so funny.  The other day I was cooking dinner and realized I hadn't heard Colby in a few minutes.  I knew he was in the kitchen but didn't discover him until I went to get some spices.  Tricky little boy.
Who would have guessed that playing in the bathtub without any water would be so fun.  He probably played in the tub for a half hour.  I love that Colby thinks I can't find him if he hides his face.

Hot Weather Already?

We have loved the warm Arizona winter and are not quite ready for the summer heat.  It is creeping up on us fast.  We do however love the excuse to go swimming almost every day.  Colby sure loves the water and playing with his friends.  Bring on the heat!

Ultrasound Pics

At my last appointment the doctor offered to do some 3-D ultrasound pictures.  It was so fun to see the baby in a little more detail.  Still kind of hard to see, but we think he looks quite a bit like Colby.

Vacation Week!

We are always so excited when Kurt has time off from school.  We had so much fun having him around without any studying.
Over the break we had a great time taking Colby to the Phoenix Zoo.  We had a great time.  Colby is really starting to like animals and loves pointing at every one saying "WOW".  It is his favorite word.
Colby was a little hesitant around the goats.  He warmed up to them after a while.

We were also able to go to Las Vegas for a couple of days to visit Kurt's sister and their family.  Kurt's parents and brother Brett were also able to make it down for a couple of days.  It was so fun to see everyone and to spend time with them.  We had a great time!
Colby loves his cousins!

Colby and Uncle Brett

Having fun at the park.

Colby especially loved jumping on the trampoline.  He did not want to stop jumping.

Thanks everyone for making it such a fun trip!

Visitors!

My parents made a quick trip to visit a few weeks ago.  We had such a great time!  Unfortunately Kurt was pretty busy with studying and didn't have a ton of time to relax.  What a hard worker!
Colby had a wonderful time playing with Grandma and Grandpa.

Thanks for making the long drive down to see us.  We had so much fun!
